Sandy Erickson first established her gallery in San Francisco in 1983. Now in Healdsburg, the Erickson Gallery showcases contemporary paintings, mixed media works, and sculptures. Art shoppers will find files of signed and numbered limited edition prints of landscapes, abstracts, and figurative works. A delightful sculpture garden features works made of granite, wood, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Paul Mahder Gallery
Thirty-foot ceilings, white walls, and dark floors create an amazing space for this Healdsburg Gallery. Open since 2014, the Paul Mahder Gallery features stunning works from local artists and exotic places like El Salvador, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. Locals love to rent out the gallery for parties, receptions, and other gala events.
J. Howell Fine Art
Find an incredible collection of contemporary California art at J. Howell Fine Art located in the Old Bank of Italy building in the center of Healdsburg’s town plaza. Impressive eleven-foot tall plate glass windows were added to give the space a bright modern look. The gallery’s owner, Janet Howell, is a former director of the Carmel Art Association. Works on display include dynamic impressionist landscapes, dry brush watercolors, realism, and vivid abstracts.
Upstairs Art Gallery
A friendly place and the favorite of many returning art shoppers and browsers, the Upstairs Art Gallery showcases the best in local art talent. They feature a plethora of original paintings, fine art giclée reproductions, and artisan crafts. The artist-owned partnership currently displays the work of sixteen of the best Sonoma County artists, one of which is always at the gallery. It’s located inside Levin and Co. Bookstore
Both established and upcoming artists are featured at Gallery Lulo with works of painting, sculpture, and jewelry. Opened in 2009, the gallery is a collaboration between Anne-Kathrine Schjerbeck and local artist, Karen Gilbert. They feature work from local, national and international artists. Their mission is to express a minimalist aesthetic. They select pieces that represent form and technique in innovative and diverse ways.
